The Judge Stopped the Hearing When He Realized the Lawyer Wasn’t Real | The InSight Out Show | Ep. 256
A man representing himself in an employment dispute submitted a video of a polished, confident attorney to speak for him in court. There was just one problem: the “lawyer” was an AI-generated avatar, and the judges had not been told.
He claimed he was not trying to deceive anyone. He simply thought a lawyer-like avatar could present his case better than he could. But when technology can look and sound convincingly human, how responsible are we for making sure people know what is real?
Scripture (ESV): Proverbs 18:17 – “The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.”
Reflection Questions:
When does using AI as a helpful tool cross the line into misrepresentation?
Does something deserve our trust simply because it looks polished and sounds confident?
