Why Does Buying Eggs Feel Like a Research Project Now? | The InSight Out Show | Ep. 138
Remember when buying eggs was simple? Grab a dozen, check for cracks, and move on. Now we're staring at cage-free, free-range, pasture-raised, organic, omega-3 enriched, and half the aisle has their phones out trying to figure out what any of it actually means.
And it’s not just eggs. Apps, reviews, labels, hidden fees, fine print, and endless options were supposed to help us make better decisions, but sometimes all that information just makes ordinary life feel heavier. At what point does being informed stop being helpful and start stealing a little bit of our peace?
Scripture (NIV): Luke 10:41–42 – “You are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one.”
Reflection Questions:
Where in your life has having more information actually made a simple decision harder? What might it look like to choose simplicity once in a while and trust that every decision doesn’t have to be perfectly optimized?
